This pendant light installation was completed in a newly built, single-storey home in Wilton. The customer wanted to move beyond standard lighting and add feature pendant lights to brighten the space and elevate the overall feel of the home. The new lights create a warm, inviting atmosphere while enhancing the kitchen as a central living area. The customer was extremely happy with the final result and the way the feature lighting transformed the space.
About the project
As there was no wiring in place for the pendant lights installation, we had to run new wiring from all 3 pendant light locations to the existing switch which was upgraded to a 4 gang switch. The pendant light locations were carefully measured and marked out to be evenly spaced above the kitchen island bench so it looked visually appealing and didn't create any unwanted shadows in the kitchen area. After the wiring was ran to each pendant light position, we then took the time to set the correct height of the pendant light wiring so that it was high enough to be out of the way of conversations and kitchen activities but also low enough to be able to light the bench top up adequately.
We then assembled the pendant light batten holder to the shade and then fitted it to the wiring that was set to the correct height. After that was complete, the covers were mounted flush to the ceiling creating a nice, polished look and we also gave the customer the perfect set of light globes to complement the pendant shades that they chose.
Overall the customer was very happy with how the pendant lights turned out and left a 5 star Google review which we were thrilled with.
